Aggressive Dog Behavior: How to Stop It

Aggressive dog behavior is no more or less then bad behavior but as always there is a reason almost always for aggressive dog behavior to come into view. A dog like everything else has lots of different reasons to do what it is doing. Obviously a dog needs to tell you what is wrong and as we don’t speak the same language. To be able to do this it needs to express its self either by barking, whining, biting or even hissing and growling.

There are many ways to stop this behavior and to assist your dog to understand that the behavior is not acceptable in your home and family unit. The first thing you need to do to make the dog understand that stop means stop is to be that blunt to make it understand that with this command it means no more. You can’t over complicate verbal instruction as the dog will only get confused and could heighten the aggressive dog behavior.

Helping your dog through stimulation. You have to get to the root of the dogs problem. Lack of stimuli could cause aggression through frustration and boredom. Get your dog some toys so it can play for example a ball anything squeaky, there are even toys out there that can contain treats and make the dog work to release those treats this will give the dog something to concentrate on and work with the dog’s natural intelligence.

When a dog does well, many dogs are rewarded for their bad behavior and this obviously only encourages the dog to do wrong you need to give praise for commands the dog obeys. There is a but to this however, you don’t need to over play the praise simple all the way a gentle pat on the head or touch of the dogs ear is sufficient, he or she doesn’t need you getting over excited and causing different bad behavior.

There is always so much to learn when having a dog, especially if you want a successful relationship with your dog. However make training your dog fun and enjoyable for you and your pet. A dog has got a short attention span so only it teach the dog commands for about 15-20mins a day no longer or else boredom for you and your pet will ruin your progress.
