Aggressive Dog Behavior

Many people live and complete torment at their dog’s aggressive behavior and don’t know where or why this come to light. Many people don’t understand that there are certain breeds out there that are highly strung and can become aggressive by nature. Before anyone buys a dog or any pet they need to know what they are buying, it is always important to research the dog’s individual needs and whether or not you as an owner can meet those needs. “A dog is not just for Christmas” as the old saying goes.

Aggressive behavior also comes in many forms as it would in a human. Aggressive dog behavior should not be accepted and the more it is not addressed the worst it will be not only for the dog but for you as the owner as well. Dogs who show aggression verbally such as barking, growling are often giving off warnings they aren’t liking the situation they are in, however by leaving this behavior and ignoring it could become worse.

Dogs that charge or bite when they don’t get their own way is another sign of aggressive dog behavior. It is not acceptable to put other dogs or humans on a defense mode every time your dog is around. It is a clear sign of your dog being the pack leading, showing his or her complete control and leadership. Showing teeth and spitting also can come under this area of aggressive.

And who is to say that despite all of the dogs physical and verbal signs of aggression a lot of the aggression stems from the owner and the way the owner has treated the animal. Could you be letting this animal run your life, could you be treating aggressive dog behavior with aggression? A lot of people don’t realize that not only are you the pack leader you also need to be the one who teaches the dog and bad behavior is learnt and can be a habit.

So don’t forget map out what you want and watch out for the signs your dog is showing you. It is all about knowing your animal. Patience, patience, patience never think that a dog does not need this. A dog is intelligent and learns quickly if taught right however it does take time and will power. So if you are thinking you want to be a dog owner make sure you way up the pro’s and con’s of this before you take the plunge. Happy owner equals a happy dog which is turn makes aggressive dog behavior nonexistent.
